We love make-up (and with good reason), but it isn't cheap. Sometimes we overly invest in products we think we will love and then we realize a month later ( darn- it!) that we aren't thrilled about our purchase. Well I have a perfect solution that will not only fill that void, but also keep some extra cash in your pockets.
So you adventure off to the make-up counter or make-up store (Sephora, my fav!). You see sooooo many new beauty products ( I'll admit I can test things out for hours!) and well as much as you would like to buy them all, you really shouldn't! So my solution to this problem, is to go out on a quest and find Travel Sized Make-up products, Value Sets and ask for Samples!
Travel Sized Make-up products are some of my favorite things at Sephora (no I don't get paid to say that). Before I check out anything, I look for the mini's (that are paved along the side of the store front registers/counters) and see all the new miniature goodies that they have. I always find new products and there are always testers to try out. I think we can all agree that we love to save dinero and what better way of doing this then to buy a smaller product that is cheaper. You save money and you don't have to fully commit.
Value Sets; are also a great deal. A set can be anything from shadow, perfume, blushes, lipsticks, brushes and the list goes on and on. Normally a quality eye shadow can be any where between $10-$20 and you only get one! Why not invest in something that gives you multiple shadows, not only do you get more for your buck, but you also get a set of shadows that look good together. Instead of looking for shadows that blend well someone has already done the work for you! The best time to purchase value sets are around the holidays. There are always great deals during this time of year and there are so many more different sets to chose from.
Samples; these you have to ask for (this is not the time to be shy!). Some counters prefer not giving them out at all ( zoo stingy!). Here's the trick to getting what you want... be really friendly, tell them you have sensitive skin and need to try the product before you invest. They usually are willing to put-out (but don't go crazy). This works for perfumes too, but use the body chemistry excuse (which really isn't an excuse, its real!) that usually does the trick. I always think I like a perfume, but I really don't know until I wear it for a few hours, don't get stuck with something you don't love! Since you are getting free product I believe that you should always ask the artist helping you, for their business card. This way when you come back (after trying the product and decide you love it), you give the name of the person who helped you, so that they can receive the credit.
So now that you are fully equipped with all this amazing knowledge what are you waiting for!!!??? Christmas is almost over get to shopping!
